About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Hygiene Operative to join their food production facility in Welkom . This role is paramount in ensuring that all production areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. You will be responsible for meticulous cleaning and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and maintain product integrity. Working within the Free State , this position requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding strict hygiene protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of food processing equipment, production lines, and surrounding areas.
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all hygiene tasks.
• Identify and report any potential hygiene risks or non-compliance issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Handle and utilize cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Assist in hygiene audits and ensure all documentation is accurately completed.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Hygiene Operative or in a similar cleaning role within the food industry.
• Understanding of food safety standards, such as HACCP or GMP, is essential.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings or evenings, as required in Welkom .
• Physically fit to perform tasks that may involve standing for long periods and manual cleaning.
