Job summary

Clearsite Industrial Services in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Hydrovac Diesel Mechanic to maintain diesel-powered hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, ensuring road and job-site readiness and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting shop and field issues, maintaining service records, coordinating with operations, and staying current on OEM standards and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of hands-on heavy equipment or diesel truck repair experience.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and mechanical testing instruments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience coordinating maintenance with operations and field teams, including maintaining service records and inspection logs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered hydrovac trucks, vacuum units, and related heavy equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services (greasing, fluid checks, belts, alignments, safety checks).
• Troubleshoot breakdowns in shop and field; respond to emergency service calls.
• Maintain parts inventory, tools, and schedule work orders to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and logs; support safety audits and regulatory inspections.
• Operate tools, welding equipment, hydraulic test benches, and diagnostic software; keep a clean, safe shop.
• Occasionally travel to job sites and handle heavy components in confined spaces.
