Job summary

L.N. Curtis & Sons is seeking a Hydrostatic Testing Service Technician to support emergency responder equipment across the Western U.S. and beyond. You will perform hydrostatic tests, service breathing apparatus, and engage customers to review needs and opportunities in the field.

Ideal candidates are mechanically and electrically proficient, willing to travel extensively, and comfortable completing administrative tasks and serving as a company representative.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand mechanical and electrical schematic diagrams.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical theory.
• Mechanically inclined and technically competent.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Capable of safely lifting and operating equipment weighing 75lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree is a plus.
• Experience in sales or marketing related field.

Responsibilities

• Largely perform hydrostatic testing of air cylinders.
• Clean, service and repair breathing apparatus and compressor systems.
• Service and repair hydraulic extrication equipment.
• Schedule appointments and meet customers to review needs and opportunities.
• Present products and services to customers face-to-face.
• Generate and develop new opportunities for product sales.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on products and procedures.
• Travel away from home consistently and for extended periods.
• Perform administrative tasks such as work orders and expense reports.

Come join our team! Help us serve our first responders! Any automotive, electrical and/or mechanical experienced individuals are encouraged to apply! This Hydrostatic Testing Service Technician serves the territory of Arizona, Southern California, New Mexico and other areas as needed (Note: territories are subject to change due to business need). Must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the listed territories. This position is for a Hydrostatic Testing Service Technician professional that has a strong passion for the emergency responder industry. The person in this position services and maintains emergency responder and fire rescue equipment, focusing largely, but not exclusively, on conducting hydrostatic testing within an assigned territory. This position includes regular contact with customers and consistent effective communication with L.N. Curtis & sons team members. The successful candidate will be expected to represent the Company and our manufacturers in a neat, orderly and professional manner.

What You’ll Be Doing As A Hydro Service Technician

• Largely perform hydrostatic testing of air cylinders
• Clean, service and repair intricate breathing apparatus and compressor systems
• Service and repair hydraulic extrication equipment
• Schedule appointments; meet with customers in order to review customer needs, product and service requirements, and to determine other opportunities for a successful relationship
• Effectively plan and conduct presentations by meeting customers face-to-face on a regular basis
• Design and implement professional demonstrations or presentations of company products and services
• Execute information exchange with customers on products and services with objective of assisting customers with their requirements
• Generate and develop new opportunities for sale of our products and services
• Enhance up-to-date knowledge on new products, procedures, services and tools
• Travel away from home consistently and for extended periods
• Successfully maintain long work hours
• Safely operate a company vehicle and attached trailer, oftentimes in inclement weather conditions. Maintain an excellent driving record that meets requirements of our insurance provider
• Perform administrative tasks such as completing work orders, monthly expense reports, and monthly mileage reports

Requirements

• Proven ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematic diagrams
• Working knowledge of basic electrical theory
• Mechanically inclined and technically competent
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Excel and Word
• Capable of safely lifting and operating equipment weighing 75lbs
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in sales or marketing related field
