Responsibilities

• Oversee crop production across participating school sites from seedling to harvest.
• Monitor and adjust nutrient levels, pH, water, lighting, and growing conditions.
• Identify and address pests, diseases, and plant-health problems.
• Maintain pumps, irrigation components, timers, and other growing equipment; coordinate repairs.
• Establish consistent cleaning, sanitation, and food-safety practices.
• Develop crop plans and planting schedules for dependable harvests.
• Train and guide student groups and teachers in planting and observations.
• Explain growing practices in clear language for students of various levels.
• Help students connect farming to food, nutrition, science, and community needs.
• Coordinate visits and building access with school staff.
