Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Safford, Arizona, is seeking a skilled process-plant operator to join our safety-first team. You will operate and minorly maintain material handling systems, perform housekeeping, and monitor equipment under minimal supervision to ensure safe production.

Required two years of trade experience, knowledge of piping, pumps, and ISO standards, plus strong computer skills and the ability to work across shifts.

Qualifications

• At least two years of trade experience.
• Complete required academic and practical competencies and pass a written assessment when required.
• Experience with material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of pipe fusing, sumps, pumps, drip systems, and stockpile layout.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 Policies.
• Knowledge of safety programs and initiatives.
• Autonomy to work without close supervision.
• Initiative to take appropriate actions.
• Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain material handling systems under minimal supervision.
• Perform area housekeeping tasks (shoveling, hoses, digging).
• Operate processing equipment per guidelines.
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Monitor equipment via computer and enter data.
• Identify, report, and assist with maintenance needs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
