Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corp’s Quick Coupling Division in Union City, PA is seeking Hydromat Operators to set up, operate, monitor and troubleshoot Hydromat rotary transfer machines to produce quick coupling components to specification. You will ensure safe operations, consistent quality, and strong productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will follow safety rules, read drawings, inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, and participate in continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and basic machining skills.
• Minimum 5 years machining experience preferred.
• Hydromat or rotary transfer machine experience preferred.
• Ability to read complex drawings, layouts, and instructions.
• Ability to apply shop math and machining principles.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform tool grinding, sharpening, and proper tool selection.

Position Summary

Parker Hannifin’s Quick Coupling Division in Union City is seeking Hydromat Operators to support precision manufacturing and help keep the world moving. In this role, you will set up, operate, monitor, adjust, and perform basic troubleshooting on Hydromat rotary transfer machines used to produce quick coupling components to specification. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe operations, consistent quality, strong productivity, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Parker’s Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world. A quick coupling is used to provide a fast, make-or-break connection of fluid or gas transfer lines. Our plants provide critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, and Data Processing.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, adjust, and monitor Hydromat machines and related assigned equipment.
• Follow all safety requirements, including PPE, Behavior Based Safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Select and adjust spindle speeds, collets, tooling, feed rates, cams, offsets, and machine settings for standard and non-standard work.
• Install tooling, collets, stops, cams, indexing mechanisms, and bar stock feed components.
• Perform machining operations such as facing, forming, turning, drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, threading, and cutting off stock.
• Produce pilot pieces for first-piece verification and make adjustments to correct setup or production variances.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, finish quality, and conformance to specifications.
• Identify, correct, and communicate quality deviations; notify the Lead of significant issues.
• Remove, reset, sharpen, or adjust tooling as needed to maintain part quality and machine efficiency.
• Minimize burrs and manually clean or deburr parts when required.
• Remove machined parts, bar ends, and turnings; separate recyclable turnings.
• Maintain statistical process control charting and production documentation.
• Work from drawings, engineering specifications, layouts, and operating instructions.
• Recommend improvements to tooling, methods, processes, or work instructions.
• Maintain tooling inventory and organization within assigned mini-cribs.
• Maintain oil and coolant levels and complete required Total Preventive Maintenance activities.
• Participate in High Performance Team, Continuous Improvement, and CAPA activities.
• Operate CNC lathes or other machining equipment when assigned.
• Maintain responsibility for quality parts throughout the production run.
• Demonstrate a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Continuously lifting and moving very light weight material (1-5 lbs).
• Frequently lifting and moving average weight material (5-50 lbs).
• Occasional lifting and moving heavy weight material up to (50 lbs. +) with assistance.

• Must have taken and passed the Parker QCD Basic Shop Course, or be able to complete required training.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

Pay:

• Starting Hourly Wage - $27.74
