Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. seeks an experienced Hydrology and Hydraulics Practice Leader to guide the California H&H practice and support national projects.

The role blends technical leadership, staff development, client engagement, business development, and project delivery within GEI’s seller-doer model. The leader will advance flood risk management, water resources planning, climate resilience, and hydraulic infrastructure, while collaborating with office teams to win work and ensure high-quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • Master’s degree in hydrology/hydraulics or water resources preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license in California or ability to obtain it within an agreed period.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for GEI’s hydrology and hydraulics practice.
  • Lead and review hydrologic, hydraulic, floodplain, reservoir operations, and water resources modeling.
  • Build client relationships and pursue strategic opportunities to grow the H&H portfolio.
  • Lead or support proposals, scopes of work, and technical approaches for projects.
  • Mentor staff and establish best practices across offices and disciplines.
