Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Survey Hydrogeologist to conduct applied hydrogeology and geology research, support water resources management, and contribute to geologic mapping and education initiatives.

The role involves preparing technical reports, presenting findings, and collaborating with the Conservation and Survey Division and School of Natural Resources to advance groundwater sustainability in Nebraska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, or closely related field plus two years of field methods experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
• Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) (ArcPro) and LiDAR data or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct applied research on hydrogeology and geology.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining databases, web services, and ongoing research programs for water resources management.
• Provide technical support to state and local agencies, including NRDs across Nebraska.
