Job summary

UES is seeking an entry-level Hydrogeology Assistant to support the Hydrogeology department. You will help collect and organize hydrogeologic data, support groundwater and surface water monitoring, and assist with field activities such as well installation and aquifer testing.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology/geology or a related field and 1+ year of relevant experience. Fieldwork and collaboration with teams are essential aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or related field.
• 1+ year of hydrogeologic or environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with groundwater and surface water monitoring methods.
• Familiar with field instrumentation and data collection techniques.
• Ability to perform fieldwork in varying environmental conditions.
• Strong organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field data collection and organize hydrogeologic datasets.
• Support groundwater and surface water monitoring activities.
• Assist with well installation, drilling oversight, pumping and aquifer testing.
• Conduct baseline hydrology monitoring of groundwater and surface water.
• Record field measurements and assist with environmental site assessments.
• Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, planners and legal professionals.
• Follow approved field plans and safety procedures.
