Job summary

Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. in Minnesota seeks an Operations/Maintenance Technician to support hydro facilities with hands-on operation and maintenance of generating plant equipment.

You will diagnose, repair, and optimize electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities include coordinating with maintenance crews, recording performance data, and performing preventative maintenance to improve unit availability and uptime.

Qualifications

• AS degree in electrical technology or related apprenticeship/experience.
• Experience with repair/maintenance of generating plant systems (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic).
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency in analytical problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Must reside within 50 miles driving distance of Twin Cities Hydro facility.
• Willingness to work after hours and overtime as needed.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) knowledge and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate Twin Cities and LSAF hydro facilities, starting, stopping, and synchronizing generators.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance on plant equipment.
• Coordinate with contracted preventive maintenance crews.
• Monitor readings, record data, run tests, and interpret results.
• Inspect facilities per DSSMP and ensure safety compliance.
• Perform low/high voltage switching and general rigging.
• Maintain documentation and parts requisitions.
