US Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, seeks a Power Plant Electrician A to install, maintain and repair electrical systems at a hydroelectric facility up to 230 kV. Location is Elberton, GA. Open Period: 16 September - 30 September 2026. Candidates must meet the screen-out element and pass pre-employment checks. Relocation and TDY may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to do the work of a POWER PLANT ELECTRICIAN without more than normal supervision.
• No substitution of education for experience.
• All positions require U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Installs, modifies, diagnostically evaluates, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment at a hydroelectric power project with voltages up to 230 kV.
• Operates shop tools, brazing/soldering equipment, cranes, and oil purifiers; performs electrical switching to effect or remove clearances.
• Inspects and tests equipment with diagnostic instruments to ensure preventive maintenance, and assists in upgrading equipment, wiring and controls.
• Maintains, adjusts, repairs, and overhauls generators, motors, transformers, switchgear, and related plant systems; keeps records and drawings; adheres to safety standards.
