Job summary

Denver Water is seeking qualified personnel to operate and maintain the safe storage and delivery of raw water and to manage hydroelectric turbine operations. The role includes maintaining canals, dams, valves, reservoirs, and associated structures while recording vital data and coordinating with public agencies.

The candidate will hold or obtain required certifications within specified timeframes and comply with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of related work experience.
• Equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience serving the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Licenses, Registration, and Certifications listed below are required within the stated timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the safe storage and delivery of raw water.
• Maintain ditches, canals, dams, conduits, reservoirs, culverts, and valves.
• Perform water changes through operation of valves and hydroelectric turbines.
• Record reservoir elevations, stream flow readings, and weather data.
• Maintain liaison with visitors and engage with local agencies regarding recreational use.

Hydroelectric Certification

Colorado Water Distribution Class 1 Certificate

FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800

Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license

Class ‘B’ Colorado Commercial Driver’s License

Possible Class ‘A’ CDL
