Job summary

Turner Industries in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Hydroblaster to direct blasts of abrasive-laden air or water to remove scale, sand, paint, and rust, ensuring an even finish. This non-exempt role reports to the Foreman and follows site procedures with a strong emphasis on safety.

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience, a TWIC card, and potential NCCER certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of hydroblasting experience.
• TWIC card required.
• Basic knowledge of hydro blasting equipment and hazards.
• May require NCCER certifications at some sites.
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical.
• Adherence to client safety requirements (PPE, attire).
• Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety.

Responsibilities

• Move controls to adjust pressure and concentration of grit to obtain specified finish.
• Wear gloves and PPE and protect eyes and hands during blasting.
• May mask areas not being sandblasted and order materials as needed.
• Perform assignments per supervisor's direction.

We are seeking a Hydroblaster for a position in Lake Charles, LA. The Hydroblaster position involves directing blasts of abrasive-laden compressed air or water from a nozzle against metal or hard composite objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart an even finish. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years of experience required
• TWIC card required
• Basic knowledge of hydro blasting equipment and the hazards associated with
• May require NCCER certifications at some job sites
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

Moves controls to adjust pressure and concentration of grit to obtain specified finish, Wears gloves and a helmet or hood to protect against breathing sand-laden air and to prevent injury to eyes and hands, May mask areas not being sandblasted, May order materials as needed, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
