Job summary

Turner Industries in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Hydroblaster to remove scale, rust, and dirt from metal surfaces using abrasive-laden air or water. The non-exempt position reports to the Foreman and follows site procedures to ensure quality finishes.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of experience, and a TWIC card. Expect strict safety rules, PPE requirements, potential NCCER certifications, and a pre-employment qualification test.

We are seeking a Hydroblaster for a position in Baton Rouge, LA. The Hydroblaster position involves directing blasts of abrasive-laden compressed air or water from a nozzle against metal or hard composite objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart an even finish. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years of experience required
• TWIC card required
• Basic knowledge of hydro blasting equipment and the hazards associated with
• May require NCCER certifications at some job sites
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement
