Job summary

Telcom Construction seeks a Hydro-Vac Truck Operator to operate a vacuum truck safely and efficiently on our Telecom Construction team, ensuring infrastructure work is completed correctly and in compliance.

You will assist in maintaining onsite equipment, manage DOT paperwork if applicable, log daily timekeeping, and participate in weekly toolbox meetings while performing the duties of a laborer as needed. Load/unload equipment, locate utilities, and maintain tools and logs.

Qualifications

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Class A CDL is required
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, relevant work experience, or a combination of education and work experience preferred
• At least three years of related experience

Responsibilities

• Operates a vacuum truck in a safe and productive manner
• Assists in maintaining onsite equipment
• Maintains tools
• Hand digs to locate utilities
• Maintains daily inspection logs and graph logs
• Loads and unloads equipment from trailers
• Knows all utilities and obstructions in work area
• Loads and unloads supplies
• Maintains and properly documents DOT paperwork if applicable
• Provides accurate daily timekeeping
• Participates in weekly “Tool Box” meetings
• Performs the duties of a laborer as needed
• All other duties as assigned

At Telcom Construction, as an Hydro-Vac Truck Operator on our Telecom Construction team, you’ll use and take care of special machines for putting in phone and internet infrastructure, making sure everything works right and stays safe while doing the job.

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, work at heights & in confined spaces, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, lift greater than 55 pounds


• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
