Job summary

MD&A is seeking a Hydraulics Technician to rebuild and overhaul actuator components, performing measurements and ensuring quality. The role involves material handling, operating basic shop equipment, and collaborating with a team to meet specifications.

Job description

The Hydraulics Technician performs a variety of manual tasks and works collaboratively as a team member to rebuild and overhaul actuator components. Responsibilities included preparation work, material loading and unloading, and operating basic shop equipment. Conducted accurate measurements and verified the work of other team members to ensure quality and compliance.

Essential Duties And Requirements

• Knowledge of mechanical interworking’s, including pneumatic.
• Ability to dismantle and reassemble components to the specifications of OEM or blueprints.
• Diagnostic, precise machining/measuring to ensure operational integrity.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with an ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with little or no guidance.
• Experience in Overhead Crane and rigging is a plus.
• Ability to use and operate various air-driven tools such as die grinders, impact wrenches, and common tooling.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and directions from leadership.
• Must have a positive attitude and be teachable.
• Ability to work in a shop environment and stand for up to 10 hours per day.

Knowledge, Skills, And Education

• High School Diploma/GED.

Reporting:

Reports to Hydraulics Work Leader.

Schedule

• Summer/Winter: Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM (4 x 10-hour shifts)
• Spring/Fall: Typically 6 days per week.
• Overtime and additional hours may be required based on business needs.

Working Conditions

• Unique manufacturing/machining environment.
• Clean, well-lit machining work environment.
• Involves exposure to noise levels that may require hearing protection.
• Some processes require personal respiratory protection devices, which are provided.
• Preventative protection gear required (steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses).
• Uniforms are provided.
