Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) is seeking a Hydraulics Team Lead for one of our South Carolina offices located in Columbia, North Myrtle Beach, or North Charleston.

As Hydraulics Team Lead, you will serve as the technical leader for drainage and stormwater design efforts across a variety of transportation projects. You will be responsible for guiding hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, developing innovative drainage solutions, and ensuring the quality and consistency of project deliverables while mentoring and developing junior engineering staff.

In this role, you will lead the preparation and review of drainage studies, stormwater management reports, culvert and bridge hydraulic analyses, floodplain evaluations, erosion and sediment control plans, and permitting support documents. Utilizing industry-standard software and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, you will provide technical direction on complex hydraulic challenges and make critical engineering decisions that support successful project delivery.

You will collaborate closely with roadway, structures, environmental, and survey teams to integrate drainage solutions into overall project design. The position will also involve participation in client meetings, pursuit of project opportunities, coordination with regulatory agencies, and support of project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts. As a self-starter, you will be expected to proactively identify project risks, develop practical solutions, and drive technical tasks forward with limited oversight.

Additionally, you will play an important role in building KCA’s hydraulics practice by mentoring junior engineers, conducting technical reviews, sharing best practices, and fostering the continued growth and development of the team. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who enjoys solving complex hydraulic problems, developing staff, and contributing to the successful delivery of transportation infrastructure projects.

Qualifications:
  • Senior-level: 8-12 years of experience
  • Experience working with SCDOT is required
  • South Carolina PE License or ability to obtain it within 6 months is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage design, and stormwater management principles
  • Experience with SCDOT design standards, drainage criteria, and project development processes
  • Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer (ORD), drainage modeling software, and related design tools is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating technical tasks is a plus
