• Support development, improvement, and sharing of hydraulic knowledge across the department.
• Coordinate with State Aid Bridge and State Aid Operations on hydraulic-related activities and standards.

Job Summary

ATTENTION APPLICANTS: This vacancy is being announced at two different job classes at the same time, Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate. The final class and starting salary are dependent on the successful applicant’s qualifications.

Job Duties:

As a Hydraulics Support Engineer, you will provide statewide technical expertise in hydrology, hydraulic design, hydraulic asset management, infrastructure data support, and related technologies, including Open Roads Designer (ORD) drainage tools. Additional responsibilities include providing hydraulic technical assistance and CADD design support to district hydraulic designers; preparing technical analysis and guidance related to drainage assets and database management; supporting the development, improvement, and sharing of hydraulic knowledge across the department; and coordinating with State Aid Bridge and State Aid Operations on hydraulic related activities and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Engineer's Senior Minimum Qualifications:

• Licensure as a professional engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).

• Experience in analyzing and preparing engineering data.
• Experience providing technical guidance and support to others.

Engineer's 2 Graduate Minimum Qualifications :

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university AND two years of post-graduation civil engineering work
• OR
• A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent AND one year of post-graduation civil engineering work.

AND

• A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Experience in hydraulics and hydrology.
• Experience analyzing and preparing engineering data.
• Experience providing technical information to others.
• Experience using CADD.
