Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Hydraulics EIT/Coordinator in Flowood, MS to support planning and design of transportation and water resources projects.

You will perform hydrologic analyses, prepare design documents, and develop plans using BIM/CADD tools while collaborating with engineers on municipal and state clients. Qualifications

• EIT certification or ability to obtain it.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources.
• Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative team environment.
• Self-motivated to complete tasks and learn new skills.
• Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GIS, OpenRoads, MicroStation, Civil 3D, MS Office Suite or similar software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and design of roadway, highway, bridge, transit, aviation, and water resources projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including drainage design and floodplain modeling.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, drainage maps, and design docs.
• Develop plans, specs, and construction cost estimates using BIM/CADD platforms.
• Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Participate in site visits, field investigations, and drainage assessments.
• Support river and stream restoration and watershed management projects.
• Collaborate with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams for public clients.
