Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Hydraulics EIT/Coordinator to join our Transportation Business Group. You will work with engineers on transportation and water resources projects, developing skills in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage design, and floodplain modeling.

The role supports planning and design of roadways and bridges, performs hydrologic analyses, prepares calculations and reports, and collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams for municipal, state, and federal clients in a flexible,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field required.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain it preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative team environment.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and design of roadway, highway, bridge, transit, aviation, and water resources projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including drainage design and floodplain modeling.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, drainage maps, and design documentation.
• Develop plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates using BIM/CADD platforms.
• Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Participate in site visits, field investigations, and drainage assessments.
• Support river and stream restoration, flood risk reduction, and watershed management projects.
• Collaborate with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams for municipal, state, and federal clients.
