Job summary

HDR is seeking a stormwater Hydraulics EIT/Designer to join our Transportation Business Group in Wilmington, NC. The role involves design for stormwater hydraulics on highways, rail, transit systems, bridges, and drainage projects using BIM/CADD tools.

Potential offices include Wilmington, Charlotte, Asheville, or Raleigh, NC. Required is a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Transportation/Structural Engineering and an EIT or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Qualifications

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Adaptable to fast-paced and deadline-driven work environment.
Self-motivated to complete tasks and learn new skills.
Ability to use MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Applicable experience performing drainage design for highway/roadway projects, preparing plans and specifications, and permitting experience.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate ability to work under the direction of multiple project engineers to apply design, engineering and modeling techniques.
Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
Prepare civil design drawings with BIM/CADD platforms for construction documents.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations and calculations.
Prepare drainage maps and stormwater management facility design calculations.
