Job summary

Altec Industries, Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking an assembler for third shift to prepare, assemble and install vehicle and chipper components to specifications. You will read schematics and work orders, use basic hand tools, and test installed systems.

You will support the APS production system, cross-train across areas, maintain a clean work area, and follow safety and quality policies. High school diploma required; forklift cert may be required; prior Altec experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend.
• Read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
• Basic computer usage knowledge required.
• Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret schematics and work orders.
• Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories.
• Test installed components for proper operation.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and proper PPE.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• May move to other work areas to support production.
