Pro Services is proud to partner with a Grand Rapids–based industrial equipment company to fill a direct hire role, and we can say firsthand: this is a company that takes care of its people and stands behind its values, with real room to build a career, take ownership of your work from teardown to final test, and make a visible impact.
This company specializes in waste recycling and dock equipment, with work done across the automotive, food, and commercial industries, and includes a dedicated division that rebuilds hydraulic cylinders, valves, pumps, and motors. They are a growing company that values high-quality work, customer satisfaction, and teamwork, and are looking for a Hydraulic Technician who shares those values and is ready to grow. You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team that truly cares about each other and the customers.
You bring variety. You’ve worked on a range of cylinder styles and sizes, and maybe heavy equipment too, rather than spending years on one type in one shop. You don’t need to have rebuilt every cylinder or pump out there, but you have strong general knowledge and can apply it to whatever comes through the door. There’s no one way to do this job, and you’re comfortable moving from one repair to the next.
You do the whole job, start to finish. You don’t stop at the teardown. You figure out why a part failed, rebuild it, test it, and get it ready to go back to the customer. When you can, you look for a better fix, like upgrading seals, so the same failure doesn’t happen again.
You’re focused and dependable. You stay on task through distractions, you work to hit quoted repair times, and you make decisions with confidence without needing someone looking over your shoulder. You pick things up quickly, retain what you learn, and run with it. You notice what needs to be done and set the example through your own work. You take ownership and keep a positive attitude.
It’s a small team with a range of experience that supports each other, including a senior tech who serves as a coach and mentor. The team already has a strong welder, so you won’t need to be one. Leadership is supportive and understanding, and the company is building a culture of brotherhood where people feel accepted, where it’s understood that employees have lives outside of work, and where everyone is encouraged to be not just a good employee but a good human.
