Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies seeks a Hydraulic Applications Engineer to design, develop, and support hydraulic systems for customer applications. You will work closely with sales, product management, and manufacturing to deliver technically sound, cost‑effective solutions.

The role involves selecting components, performing hydraulic calculations, and overseeing testing and validation of prototypes. Strong customer-facing problem-solving and collaboration across teams are essential for success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field required.
3-5+ years of experience in hydraulic system design, fluid power applications, or mobile/industrial equipment engineering.
Experience with hydraulic controls, electro-hydraulics, or proportional/servo valve technology preferred.
Familiarity with CAD software and hydraulic simulation tools.

Responsibilities

Design hydraulic systems, write schematics and specify components for new and existing applications.
Select components based on performance, cost, and reliability criteria and perform hydraulic calculations and simulations.
Provide expert technical support to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams; conduct on-site diagnostics and optimization.
Lead cross-functional projects with product management, manufacturing, and sales to ensure manufacturability, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
