Job summary

Bosch Rexroth in the United States seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive APQP/PPAP processes and manage supplier performance across the lifecycle. You will collaborate with Purchasing teams to qualify new suppliers, develop existing ones, and monitor quality, delivery, and cost with monthly scorecards.

The role requires 3-5 years in quality engineering, knowledge of ISO 9001/14001, FMEA, and process controls, and travel 5-10% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of quality engineering experience, preferably in hydraulic industry.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Process control plan, FMEA.
• Working knowledge of DOE, SPC, GD&T, corrective action processes; ability to interpret and understand complex drawings.
• Project management experience is preferable.
• Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional site teams.
• Willing to travel domestically (5-10% locally) and internationally.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001, 8D reports, Root Cause Analysis, Data Driven Problem Solving and Auditing.
• Six sigma training preferred.
• Knowledge of heat treating, plating, anodizing or metal part machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for the definition, updating, and communication of the HydraForce Supplier Quality Assurance Manual requirements internally within HydraForce and externally to the supply base.
• Work with the Purchasing Team to identify and qualify new suppliers and in developing existing suppliers to meet business needs.
• Monitor current supplier performance: Impact, Quality, Delivery and Cost and generate monthly supplier scorecards.
• Develop and implement a follow up mechanism with suppliers to increase Quality performance.
• Support the HydraForce Project Engineering group during program review meetings.
• Assist with development of PPAP documentation (dimensional verification requirements, process flow charts, control plans, FMEAs, MSA and material analysis).
• Develop processes to support the approval of PPAP submissions and run-at-rate disciplines.
• Provide feedback to suppliers when PPAP submissions are not accepted.
• Work with supply base and internal stakeholders to respond to performance metrics (impact, cost, efficiency, quality).
• Assist supplier advance quality efforts with Engineering/Design and program management during launches.
• Provide supplier process knowledge to define areas for improvement to optimize hydraulic performance.
• Represent the voice of the HydraForce supply base in APQP activities.
• Assist internal stakeholders to optimize Design for Manufacturing with data from non-conformances and shop floor issues.
