Job summary

Abilene Machine in Solomon, KS is seeking a hands-on mechanic to rebuild hydraulic and drivetrain components for John Deere and Case IH equipment.

You will read schematics, test pumps and transmissions, and keep your work area clean, organized, and safe while collaborating with a team that values quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of mechanical experience preferred.
• Agricultural, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment experience is a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Must be at least 18 years old and provide basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic and drivetrain components.
• Rebuild hydraulic pumps, PTO units, transmissions, steering components, and final drives.
• Test hydraulic pumps for pressure and leaks.
• Read and follow assembly instructions and schematics.
• Maintain inventory of parts and components.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety and quality standards.
