Job summary

Abilene Machine LLC in Kansas is seeking a hands-on mechanic to rebuild hydraulic and drivetrain components for John Deere and Case IH tractors and combines. If you enjoy solving mechanical challenges and take pride in quality workmanship, we’d love to meet you.

You'll disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild components, test pumps, follow schematics, and maintain parts inventory. This is a full-time, on-site role with strong safety and teamwork expectations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of mechanical experience preferred.
• Agricultural, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment experience is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to learn, work as a team, and take pride in quality work.
• Must be at least 18 years old and provide basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic and drivetrain components.
• Rebuild hydraulic pumps, PTO units, transmissions, steering components, and final drives.
• Test hydraulic pumps for pressure and leaks.
• Read and follow assembly instructions and schematics.
• Maintain inventory of parts and components.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety and quality standards.
