Description

Responsible for assembling and installing hydraulic systems on new truck equipment packages. This position installs hydraulic pumps, valves, reservoirs/tanks, hoses, fittings, and related components according to drawings, schematics, and work instructions.


The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience assembling hydraulic or mechanical systems. This position requires commitment to quality workmanship, proper hose routing and component installation, leak‑free connections, and safe work practices.



  • Assemble and install complete hydraulic systems on new truck equipment packages.

  • Install and mount hydraulic pumps, valves, reservoirs/tanks, filters, manifolds, cylinders, and other hydraulic components.

  • Measure, route, assemble, and install hydraulic hoses, tubing, fittings, adapters, and connections.

  • Properly identify hydraulic ports, fittings, hose sizes, and connection types.

  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, installation drawings, work instructions, and equipment specifications.

  • Ensure hydraulic hoses and components are properly routed, secured, protected, and positioned to prevent abrasion, interference, heat exposure, or premature failure.

  • Properly tighten hydraulic fittings and connections using established procedures and specifications.

  • Fill hydraulic systems with appropriate fluids and assist with system startup, testing, and operation.

  • Inspect completed installations for leaks, proper routing, secure connections, and overall workmanship.

  • Troubleshoot and correct hydraulic installation issues identified during assembly or testing.

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, torque tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as required.

  • Document completed work and inspections using company systems and required documentation.

  • Communicate with supervisors and parts coordinators regarding missing, incorrect, or damaged components.

  • Complete assigned work within established production hours while maintaining quality and safety standards.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Support team members and other truck equipment installation activities as needed.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience


  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.

  • Experience assembling, installing, or servicing mechanical or hydraulic equipment.

  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, drawings, and diagrams.

  • Ability to identify and properly install hoses, fittings, fasteners, and mechanical components.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality, leak‑free installations.

  • Ability to work independently while meeting established production expectations.

  • Ability to safely lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Preferred Education & Experience


  • 1–3+ years of experience assembling, installing, or servicing hydraulic systems or mobile equipment.

  • Experience installing hydraulic pumps, control valves, reservoirs, hoses, fittings, cylinders, and related components.

  • Experience reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics.

  • Knowledge of hydraulic hose and fitting types, sizes, and connection methods.

  • Experience with mobile hydraulic systems, PTO‑driven hydraulic systems, truck equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or heavy equipment.

  • Experience assembling hydraulic hoses or using hose crimping equipment.

  • Familiarity with proper hydraulic hose routing and installation practices.

  • Vocational or technical training in hydraulics, diesel technology, automotive technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field.

  • Basic hydraulic troubleshooting experience.
