Job description

Hydraquip is seeking a candidate eager to make a significant contribution to our largest clients and vendors as part of our 100% employee-owned company. We are a fluid power distributor representing over 40 world-class brands and providing value-added solutions such as pump/motor assemblies, mobile valve assemblies, hose kits, repairs, hydraulic power units, and electrohydraulic solutions. With offices across Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Tulsa, Denver, Memphis, and Lafayette, Hydraquip offers numerous growth opportunities within the company.

The Lead Inside Sales Representative South will assume a leadership role within our inside sales team, focusing on customer satisfaction, sales growth, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Operations Manager, they will directly manage the Houston inside sales team and indirectly oversee the San Antonio and Louisiana branches.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Acting as the primary inside sales/customer service contact, providing support, and reporting issues to management.
  2. Ensuring consistent customer service across branches, managing major accounts, and supporting other inside sales staff.
  3. Driving efficiencies in quoting, order entry, and inventory management.
  4. Collaborating with purchasing to facilitate production orders.
  5. Enhancing customer experience, leading and mentoring the inside sales team, and supporting departmental improvements.
  6. Managing lead tracking via Hubspot, phone, and chat, and monitoring customer satisfaction scores.
  7. Overseeing order management, including allocations, expedites, and shipment issues.
  8. Tracking customer visits with Account Managers monthly.
  9. Maintaining vendor contacts and organizing databases to streamline information.
  10. Monitoring open orders without POs, unapproved, and credit hold orders.
  11. Streamlining quoting, order processing, and issue resolution for assigned customers.
  12. Conducting training for new employees and reviewing customer satisfaction surveys.
  13. Participating in weekly meetings to discuss orders, issues, vendors, discounts, and inventory management.
  14. Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical degree or certifications preferred.
  • 2-5 years in inside sales, customer service, or technical fields, with experience in hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, or automotive repair preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical components, strong leadership, customer focus, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
