Job summary
Zurich North America is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Trial Attorney or Senior Trial Attorney to join the Pasadena Staff Legal office. The role covers all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation, from evaluation to resolution, in a hybrid Pasadena, CA setting with one in-office day per week.
The position offers opportunities to mentor colleagues, manage complex matters, and provide technical guidance while collaborating with claims professionals to craft strategy and advocate for
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor
- 5+ years of litigation experience
- California State Bar in good standing
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Experience using Lexis or Westlaw or similar legal research platforms
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims environment, insurance defense litigation, and legal procedure
Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation from initial evaluation through resolution
- Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy
- Conduct discovery and negotiate settlements
- Appear at hearings and advocate for clients throughout the litigation process
- Senior-level attorneys may mentor colleagues and serve as technical resources on complex matters
