You will gather medical evidence, take depositions, perform discovery and legal research, and draft pleadings and motions for hearings. The role includes litigating before administrative law judges, representing employers or insurers, negotiating settlements, and helping control costs while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• J.D. and admission to the Indiana bar; additional Midwest state bar admission is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation or related fields.
• Knowledge of legal principles and practices.
• Understanding of local, state, and federal laws.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook; PerfectLaw software preferred.
• Maintain firm and client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Gather and review medical evidence and records.
• Conduct depositions of claimants, physicians, and other parties.
• Perform discovery and legal research.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings and motions.
• Litigate cases before an administrative law judge.
• Represent employer or insurer in various legal proceedings.
• Assist in accident investigations and problem-solving.
• Manage costs to reduce liability.
• Compile and submit management reports.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
