Job summary

CorVel is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to handle non-complex claims under supervision, ensuring coverage confirmation, reserve establishment and timely payments. The role supports the claims department’s goals within CorVel’s ACE-IT culture and offers a blended work arrangement.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least one year in claims, and a current workers’ compensation license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 1 year of industry experience and claims management preferred.
• Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation required to be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Receives workers’ compensation claims and confirms policy coverage.
• Determines validity and compensability of claims.
• Establishes reserves and authorizes payments within limits.
• Manages non-complex lost-time claims under close supervision.
• Communicates claim status with customer, claimant and client.
• Adheres to guidelines and participates in reviews as needed.
• Assists others with more complex or problematic claims.
• Performs additional projects and duties as assigned.
