Job summary

Motion Industries seeks a Workday Report Writer to design, develop, and optimize reporting within the Workday HCM ecosystem across HR, Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, and more. You will partner with HR, Finance, IT, and operations to gather requirements and deliver trusted reports and data solutions.

You will build complex calculated fields, validate data, and support upgrades. This hybrid role covers multiple sites including Birmingham and Atlanta with strong Excel proficiency expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years of Workday reporting experience.
• Expertise in Workday Report Writer and calculated fields; Prism experience.
• Solid understanding of Workday HCM, security, data sources, and report optimization.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Workday reports for data-driven decisions.
• Build advanced, matrix, composite reports and RaaS outputs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements.
• Create and maintain calculated fields across HCM data sources.
• Validate report accuracy and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
• Assist with Workday upgrades, testing, and report validation.
• Document report logic and maintain reporting standards and catalogs.
• Ensure reports follow Workday security logic to protect data privacy.
• Develop reports across HR, Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, and more.
• Create and manage Prism datasets and derived datasets.
• Design and join Prism data with native Workday data.
