Job summary

DuPage County is seeking a Water Quality Supervisor within the Stormwater Management Department. The role offers hybrid work after a 6-month probation and supervisor approval, with full benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, and retirement plans.

The position requires a BS in environmental science or related field, at least five years coordinating water quality efforts with supervisory experience, and a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or closely related field.
• Five years coordinating water quality efforts including two years in supervision.
• Valid Illinois driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Supervises subordinate personnel engaged in water quality projects.
• Recommends hires/promotions and directs employment decisions.
• Develops five-year plans for discharge and pollutant impact mitigation.
• Coordinates with watershed partners and state staff on program expansion.
• Prepares reports on permit compliance and progress toward goals.
• Operates and maintains field equipment for water quality monitoring.
