United Way Miami Inc. is hiring a VP, Accounting & Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and oversee financial close, reporting, and internal controls across the organization and its subsidiaries.

The role directs budgeting, audit coordination, regulatory filings like Form 990, and builds a high-performing team, with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and strategic financial leadership to support the CFO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, close process, and financial reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and consolidation; maintain strong internal controls.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audit and regulatory filings (Form 990).
• Manage relationships with external auditors and fiscal agents; safeguard assets.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting team; support CFO with strategic insights.
