Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Compute, Storage and Data Protection Manager to lead NIH CIT Hosting and Storage Services. You will drive day-to-day operations, manage a technical team across compute, VMware, storage, and backup services, and align with strategic transformation goals.

You will balance operational excellence with modernization, mentoring engineers, engaging stakeholders, and delivering reliable IT services in a hybrid environment with 3 days on-site in Bethesda, MD.

Qualifications

BS/BA in an IT-related discipline or equivalent experience.
Minimum 6+ years of IT leadership, operations, and service delivery experience.
Experience overseeing a portfolio of technology services and leading a technical team’s day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day oversight for your team, delegating tasks and ensuring timely delivery of compute, VMware, storage, and backup services.
Oversee service catalog, identify customer demands, develop technical strategy, and guide the team to implement the vision.
Collaborate with Project Managers/Scrum Masters for transparent timelines, resources, risks, and status reporting.
Drive continuous improvement and modernization of services to meet future customer demands.
Oversee staffing, recruitment, performance management, training, and mentoring of engineers.
Coordinate incident management and post-closure communications including after-action reporting.
