Job summary

City of Atlanta, Georgia is seeking a Visual Content Creator to produce high-quality photography and support videography, editing, and graphic design for Council initiatives. The role emphasizes visual storytelling for meetings, events, and community engagement.

The position requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and collaboration with Communications staff. Hybrid work is offered with in-person and remote work options based on department needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum 5 years of professional photography experience.
• Experience covering government or political events is a plus.
• Municipal or public sector experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related tools.
• Ability to conceptualize and execute creative projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Capture professional photographs of Council meetings, events, and community activities.
• Edit photos and videos for social media, reports, and promotional materials; apply color correction and visual effects.
• Create graphics and layouts for digital and print collateral; ensure branding consistency.
• Operate and maintain cameras, lenses, lighting gear, sound equipment, and editing stations; manage equipment needs.
• Direct talent during shoots and uphold photojournalistic ethics and Council visual identity.
