Job summary

City of Atlanta Careers seeks a Visual Content Creator to capture high-quality photography for the Atlanta City Council and support videography, editing, and graphic design for events and community engagement.

The role requires independent judgment, strong technical skills, and collaboration with the Communications Director and Council staff to deliver compelling visuals that align with Council priorities and branding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Media, Broadcast Journalism, or related field preferred; seven years of experience may substitute a degree
• Minimum 5 years of professional photography experience; videography/editing strongly preferred
• Experience covering government or political events is a plus
• Municipal or public sector experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Capture professional photographs of Council meetings, events, and community activities
• Maintain an organized archive of photographs and videos
• Edit photos and videos for social media, reports, and promotions
• Create graphics and layouts for digital and print collateral
• Coordinate with Communications staff to align visuals with Council branding
