Optimal in Missouri is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to design, implement and validate vehicle electrical systems. The role covers reviewing device transmittals, developing vehicle-level schematics, defining fusing/grounding strategies, and supporting prototype/pre-production builds.

The candidate will perform system-level tests for ECU integration, flashing software/calibration files, and conducting functional tests to validate designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or Master's)
• Must have prior experience with systems engineering
• Ability to design, test and troubleshoot systems with multiple standalone components
• Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
• Ability to understand causal effects and establish a structured approach to identify potential causes of undesirable behavior

Responsibilities

• Design and develop program-specific electrical system schematics
• Support electrical device transmittal process (BSEM GDT Set-up, Create DT Status Report)
• Develop program-specific system FMEA and DVP (Validation Plans)
• Prototype breadboards (parts list development, sign-off, validation)
• Prototype vehicle builds (Yellowboard software flashing, configuration, sign-off)
• Lead compatibility reviews to verify wiring interfaces
• Support builds at production plant
• Electrical schematics design, CAN Network, ECU software flashing and diagnostics
