Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a UX/UI designer and front-end web developer to enhance our digital presence from onsite in Durham, NC. You will blend design and code to improve existing experiences, create landing pages and conversion funnels, and bring designs to life through front-end development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and developing user experiences for websites, preferably in ecommerce/digital marketing.
• Strong portfolio with modern visual design, interaction design, information hierarchy, and responsive web experiences.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with the ability to independently implement and refine designs.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to support design and front-end development workflows.
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize landing pages and user journeys with usability and conversion focus.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and production-ready designs.
• Translate designs into clean, responsive front-end code using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Continuously improve site experiences based on testing, analytics, and user insights.
• Ensure a seamless user experience across devices with a mobile-first design approach.
• Maintain high standards of UX/UI quality, visual consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness.
• Prototype and iterate quickly while balancing speed, quality, and business objectives.
• Identify and resolve design, usability, and functionality issues before release.
• Contribute to and maintain design systems, reusable components, and style guidelines.
• Partner with marketing, product, e-commerce, and business stakeholders to support campaigns, launches, and ongoing initiatives.
