Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a UX/UI Designer & Front-End Web Developer to enhance the look, feel, and performance of our digital presence in Durham, NC. The role blends design and development to improve existing experiences, craft new landing pages, and bring designs to life through front-end code.

You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize digital performance, create responsive experiences, and ensure accessibility across devices while leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and developing user experiences for websites, preferably ecommerce or marketing.
• Strong portfolio showing modern visual design, interaction design, information hierarchy, and responsive experiences.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to support design and front-end workflows.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with ability to implement and refine designs quickly.
• Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
• Familiarity with analytics and performance considerations in web UI.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and convert landing pages and user journeys with a focus on usability and engagement.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and production-ready designs.
• Translate designs into clean, responsive front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Continuously improve site experiences using testing, analytics, and user insights.
• Ensure consistent UX/UI quality, accessibility, and cross-device responsiveness.
• Maintain design systems, reusable components, and style guidelines.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, e-commerce, and stakeholders on campaigns and launches.
