Job summary

Canopius US is seeking a Senior Ceded Reinsurance professional to support the Head of Ceded Reinsurance in placement, implementation and ongoing management of ceded programs, ensuring protections align with strategic objectives.

You will coordinate the placement process with brokers and reinsurers, work with underwriting, claims, finance and actuarial teams, and drive improvements in ceded reinsurance operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in reinsurance, including ceded placement and treaty management.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills to interpret data.
• Proficient IT skills for data, systems and reporting.
• Clear, proactive communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
• Detail-oriented with high technical discipline.
• Collaborative team player with professional approach.
• Ability to coordinate with brokers, reinsurers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the US reinsurance purchasing process and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate on global reinsurance strategies and placements.
• Oversee ceded reinsurance treaty operations.
• Propose improvements to ceded reinsurance processes.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Actuarial, and Exposure Management.
• Ensure ceded programs are understood and reflected in processes and reporting.
• Coordinate responses to external information requests.
• Review CUSI contract documents prior to purchase.
• Manage ad hoc ceded reinsurance projects.
