Job summary

Cigna Healthcare is seeking an RULDP Explore summer intern to support underwriting teams in evaluating risk, pricing decisions, and financial performance. You will gain foundational training, mentorship, and exposure to senior leaders, with a project to improve a process and customer outcomes.

Locations include Bloomfield, CT, with hybrid onsite work. Strong math, Excel skills, and a passion for underwriting and healthcare are encouraged. May 24, 2027 start date; hourly market range $24/hr.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree with 3 years completed in a preferred major (Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Economics, Finance, Management, Mathematics, or Healthcare).
• Strong analytical aptitude with comfort applying quantitative reasoning to business scenarios.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain approach and results.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting reviews by organizing case information, identifying missing data, and summarizing risk considerations.
• Use Excel to clean, analyze, and visualize data informing pricing inputs and portfolio insights.
• Contribute to a live caseload under guidance by tracking milestones, escalating issues, and maintaining momentum.
• Complete an internship project that improves a process, strengthens a decision framework, or enhances customer outcomes.
• Communicate progress and findings in written updates, team discussions, and a final presentation.
