Job summary

Cambia Health Solutions seeks Underwriter I–Senior to evaluate group eligibility and assign rates across small and large group segments. The role supports underwriting decisions in a collaborative, client-focused environment, with hybrid office attendance and a chance to influence health care pricing decisions.

Candidate experience spans business, math, and risk management, with strong analytical and communication skills, plus proficiency in Excel and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, math, statistics, or related discipline; or equivalent combination.
• For II: bachelor's plus minimum 3 years of related experience; for III: minimum 5 years; Senior: minimum 8 years.
• Underwriting principles, insurance concepts, and risk assessment fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Follow underwriting guidelines, policies, procedures, and formulas in developing and assigning rates for new and renewal groups.
• Verify employer eligibility to purchase and renew group products and ensure participation/contribution requirements.
• Audit new and renewing groups to ensure compliance with underwriting and legislative guidelines.
• Validate that all required documentation is complete and properly executed.
• Approve renewal changes after verifying rates and product selection.
• Maintain complete and accurate records in underwriting systems.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies and processing errors.
• Monitor application status and ensure timely processing through workflow systems.
• Use applications to support the rating and underwriting process, including StepWise and Salesforce.
