Job summary

IAT Insurance Group in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Underwriter to assess risk and drive profitable growth within a hybrid work schedule (office Mon-Wed, remote Thu-Fri).

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience and strong communication skills. The role supports agency partnerships and regulatory compliance while leveraging data to inform decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and drive profitable growth within assigned authority.
• Collaborate to manage agency relationships and identify growth opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Use data and analytics to evaluate risk and support decisions.
• Analyze applications, financials, loss history and third-party data.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support business development and partner engagement.
• Utilize performance metrics to optimize territory outcomes.
• Stay aware of market dynamics to inform decisions.
• Perform other duties as needed.
