Job summary

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) is seeking a dedicated professional to join the UI Tax Bureau. You will oversee quality reviews, coordinate policy updates, and collaborate across IWD units to resolve operational issues.

The role involves responding to USDOL requests and ensuring compliance with labor-related standards. The position emphasizes training staff, interpreting complex regulations, and communicating findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field.
• Three years of full-time work in employment interviewing, counseling, management, program planning, or occupational, budget, or labor market analysis.
• Seven years of full-time work in employment interviewing, counseling, management, program planning, or occupational, budget, or labor market analysis.
• Current, continuous experience in Iowa Workforce Development including two years in relevant roles.

Responsibilities

• Quality Review: oversee and plan quality review activities for the UI Tax Bureau; analyze staff procedural errors; develop recommendations for leadership; review policy and develop program studies; support changes to reduce errors in UI.
• Public Relations: maintain knowledge of employment law; confer with employers, attorneys, legislators; participate in committees; update agency records.
• Communication: develop internal procedures and training materials; deliver training for Tax staff; prepare periodic management reports; provide advisory support.
• Collaboration: partner with UI Bureau Managers; work with IWD units to resolve UI Tax issues; respond to USDOL requests; translate standards into performance expectations.
