Job summary

GFT is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) to join our Construction Services Team in Philadelphia. This role combines on-site work with a remote schedule, reflecting our hybrid work model.

You will perform inspections to ensure quality construction, verify adherence to plans and QC standards, and collaborate daily with engineers and supervisors to receive assignments and complete daily documentation. A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
• Minimum 1 year as Technical Assistant 2
• Two years of transportation construction inspection experience with a High School Diploma
• Four years of highway/building trades, construction, inspection, or design with a High School Diploma
• ACI, NICET, and/or NECEPT certifications
• Equivalent combination of experience and/or training for reading plans and specs

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection to ensure contractors build a quality construction project.
• Ensure plans, specifications, standards and QC plans are followed.
• Meet daily with Project Engineer/Manager/Supervisor or Consultant Manager/Supervisor for instructions.
• Complete PSAs and worksheets daily.
• Request assistance for inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure contract compliance.
• Participate in daily field staff huddles.
