Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electric Transmission Siting Lead to manage utility clients, developers, and infrastructure projects through planning, routing, siting, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. You will direct multi-disciplinary teams and oversee siting studies, ensuring quality and timely delivery of major transmission facilities.

The role requires leadership, strategic vision, and strong communication with executives, regulators, and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, real estate, public policy, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in electric transmission siting, utility infrastructure, environmental planning, permitting, or related work.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex transmission or linear-infrastructure siting projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced experience with GIS, transmission routing, permitting strategy, regulatory filings, budget/schedule management, and client relationship management.
• Established ability to communicate effectively with utility executives, regulatory agencies, communities, landowners, and technical specialists.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits, agency consultations, and public hearings

Responsibilities

• Lead complex transmission-line, substation, and infrastructure siting assignments involving high-risk or multi-jurisdictional issues.
• Serve as a senior advisor to utility clients and project leadership on routing, permitting, regulatory, property, stakeholder, and constructability considerations.
• Guide agency strategy, public engagement, and responses to critical project risks.
• Resolve complex technical, agency, and stakeholder conflicts, determining when strategic adjustments or escalations are required.
• Support proposal development, client relationship management, business development, and industry forum presentations
