Job summary

Great River Energy in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Project Manager, Transmission to lead multiple small to mid-size transmission line and substation projects from planning through integration.

The role requires travel within GRE's service territory (roughly 50%), a hybrid work arrangement, and collaboration across engineering, construction, and external partners to ensure projects stay on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management or a related field.
• 5 years' experience with proven ability to manage projects and coordinate teams of professionals.
• PMP strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of transmission & substation planning, design and construction standard utility practice.
• Knowledge of electric utility practice, codes and standards relating to transmission project planning, design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall success of assigned transmission projects from planning through completion.
• Develop and maintain project requirements, permits, finances, approvals, and stakeholder communications.
• Keep projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Direct bid documents and contract with contractors; collaborate with other departments.
• Initiate and support the estimating process.
• Coordinate construction outages and material receipt dates.
• Build relationships with GRE divisions, member-owners, and other utilities.
• Collaborate with internal and external resources on scope, cost sharing, and construction oversight.
