Job summary

PG&E in Oakland is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer to provide reliability analysis and develop transmission solutions to meet California's RPS goals while complying with NERC and WECC standards. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Experience with power flow analysis and study tools preferred.
Professional licensure or certification (EIT/PE) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and recommend transmission plans with CAISO, ensuring safe, reliable operation.
Perform CAISO GIDAP studies and power flow/transient stability simulations to meet CAISO/NERC/WECC/FERC requirements.
Lead delivery of interconnection study outputs, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate schedules with CAISO and customers.
Develop long-term strategies and plans for transmission system reliability and efficiency.
Create basecase assumptions and dynamic models for generation projects under WDT and Tariff rules.
Collaborate with CAISO and CPUC on transmission planning issues and review diagrams for future expansion.
